This is my brain on reason.

Ugh …

Okay, I couldn’t hold out any longer. I had to ask the salesperson what is happening with production. If I had it my way, I would know when the frame is completed, when the panels are put on, when the paint is started, when it is finished, etc. But at least I went two weeks without asking her! I sent her an email, so I should hear back from her soon.

Ask MINI!

May 27, 2005   written by Chantal
I called 1-866-ASK-MINI today to see what information I could get out of their automated service. Unfortunately, I don’t have my production number yet so I couldn’t do much. I sent an email to my dealer rep and asked her to send it my way. I’m sure she’ll get that ASAP, because she must know that the alternative is for me to bug her 24×7.

Is it here yet? Is it here yet? When will it be here? Is it here now?

Obituary: Bob Hunter

I really enjoyed watching Bob read the morning news in his housecoat and slippers. It was a refreshing change from the usual morning news.

Canada NewsWire Group: “Citytv Mourns the Passing of CityPulse News Ecology Specialist Robert (Bob) Hunter

TORONTO, May 2 /CNW/ –
It is with profound sadness that we at CityPulse and CHUM Limited must share with you the news of the death of our long-time colleague and friend Robert (Bob) Hunter. Bob passed away this morning after a long and courageous fight against prostate cancer. He was 63.

Born in 1941 in Manitoba, Bob changed an entire generation’s thinking about the earth, its endangered creatures and the grave responsibility we all share for preserving the natural environment he dedicated his life to protecting. With the launch of Greenpeace in 1971, Bob became Canada’s first eco-warrior, facing down the whalers and their harpoons and the seal hunters and their clubs, bringing the bloody plight of those gentle animals to the forefront of the national consciousness. His years with Greenpeace also saw Bob campaign world-wide against nuclear testing and the dumping of toxic wastes in our oceans. Time Magazine once declared him one of the eco-heroes of the twentieth century.

Beyond his ardent activism, Bob was an educator who believed that words are weapons on the environmental battlefield. A newspaper columnist and author of more than a dozen books, Bob brought his formidable intellect and uncompromising approach to our newsroom as our Ecology Specialist for 15 years. Bob’s award-winning commentaries were models of wit, satire and biting analysis. For years ‘BreakfastTelevision’ viewers were treated to Bob’s ‘Paper Cuts,’ his unique, early-morning take on the news in print; he was also the host of ‘Hunter’s Gatherings’ on CP24.

‘This was a man with a great loving heart, a brilliant mind and a massive spirit. Bob Hunter changed our world. It a sadder world today, but a better world because of him,’ said Stephen Hurlbut, Vice-President, News Programming Citytv and Vice-President and General Manager of CP24.

Jews Are a Disease! Um .. are we still on the air?

Sorry, you miserable old bastard. What you said isn’t going to avoid “creating conflict” just because you thought you weren’t being recorded.

Ahenakew: didn’t know he was being taped when he called Jews a ‘disease’

TIM COOK

SASKATOON (CP) – David Ahenakew says he had no idea he was being taped when he told a reporter that Jews were a ‘disease’ and he never figured his comments would be published.

The former head of the Assembly of First Nations and member of the Order of Canada took the stand at his hate-crime trial Monday in support of his defence lawyer’s application to have the tape of the conversation thrown out as evidence. ‘I did not know it was going to become an international incident,’ Ahenakew told provincial court Judge Marty Irwin.

‘It’s not for creating conflict all over the place.'”

LiveJournal = pwned

Looks like LJ’s ISP didn’t pay their electricity bill. The power went out and is just coming back up now. It should be interesting to see how many posts there are in the minutes after the servers come back up. Everyone is desperate for their fix!

Power is back up at Internap, but we’re in the process of bring back our 100+ servers.

What timing … I just added my journal’s RSS feed to my website. I can’t test it out until they get their servers back up. I bet they did this just to inconvenience me!
